It’s important to get a good night’s rest. More than 60% of people in the U.S. have difficulties with proper sleep. But what’s the reason for this epidemic of sleeplessness?

Part of the problem is related to diet. Improper diet, such as too much sugar intake or not enough protein, can contribute to problems with sleeping. Lack of exercise also causes sleep problems, since exercise naturally releases chemicals in the brain that can help induce sleep when it’s time for bed.

Aside from diet and exercise, though, another thing to consider is the bed you’re sleeping on.
